Sheinbaum: Just say HELL NO!
From: “Firme ¡no! de Sheinbaum a injerencismo de EU;“vienen por unos, luego por otros”; Alma E. Muñoz, Néstor Jiménez and Iván Saldaña, Jornada, 1 June 2026
From the Monument to the Revolution, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo called for defending national sovereignty against foreign interference, and calling into doubt the States intentions of the United States’ extradition requests for some elected authorities, without providing evidence.
“They come for some, then for others, until offices of the Department of Justice become the main elector in Mexico.”
Before a crowd of thousands she questioned whether there truly was a legitimate interest in helping Mexico and combating organized crime: “Or are we perhaps seeing how sectors of the American far right are using our country to position themselves for their 2026 elections? Do they intend to influence the 2027 election in our country? Mexico is nobody’s piñata!” she declared.
While reaffirming Mexico’s willingness to cooperate on attempts to curb narcotics exports, Sheinbaum warned that there are currently new forms of destabilization encouraged by the international right wing, including digital campaigns and destabilization operations that seek to erode governments or movements.
More worrisome, she also spoke of the attitude of a segment of the Mexican right wing that is “sellout,” willing to celebrate and even promote pressure from foreign politicians. A right wing that goes so far as to invite representatives of the Spanish far right to pay homage to Hernán Cortés.
“Politicians and commentators who travel abroad to speak ill of Mexico; from here they request external intervention (and) open the doors to foreign agencies in order to recover the privileges they lost when the people decided to change the course of the nation.”

She's amazing. Viva!
